how to troubleshoot a humidifier?

I have a Transporter 49FH humidifier mounted with a humidistat. The humidistat allows to manually setup the humidity on. When I reach the threshold, I can feel the click but it does not uncommitted the humidifier valve. Should I look into the humidistat,

If you have no volts at the valve, counter for voltage present at the humidistat. Either 110 V or 24V. If not, trace back to where the wires bring about a display voltage to the humidistat. Need voltage to the humidistat for it to work. Hope this helps.
