is it ok to use a blender instead of a food processor?

I am interested in the Deceptively Tasty Cookbook by Jessica Seinfeld, and it calls for a food processor. i dont want to buy one. Can i atone do with a blender??


My daughter has that earmark, and most of the recipes call for purees, which are just fine in a blender...... In to be sure, they'd be easier to pour out of the blender:)
